Modernizing water supply systems with efficient pumps and smart monitoring to reduce energy use and costs.
Expanding solar, biogas, and hydropower applications to support clean and reliable water management.
Providing training and audits that help institutions adopt sustainable and energy-efficient technologies.
The Energy Efficiency and Innovation Fund (EEIF) operates under the World Bank–financed Water Services and Institutional Support Project (WASIS). The Fund provides financial and technical support to Uzbekistan’s water utilities to modernize their infrastructure, reduce electricity use, and enhance service reliability through energy-efficient investments.
Saving energy, powering progress.
The EEIF consists of three core components designed to improve energy efficiency and strengthen the performance of water utilities across Uzbekistan. Through these components, the Fund delivers measurable savings and long-term sustainability.
From initial assessment to project financing — EEIF makes applying for support straightforward and transparent.
Identify areas in your facility or utility where energy efficiency improvements can be made. Review EEIF eligibility criteria to ensure your project qualifies.
Conduct an energy audit or feasibility study to estimate potential savings, investment needs, and payback period.
Prepare your application documents and submit them to the EEIF for review and approval.
Once approved, implement your project using the provided financing or grant support, following EEIF’s monitoring and reporting guidelines.
The Energy Efficiency and Innovation Fund supports investments that reduce energy costs and strengthen sustainable water services.
The Energy Efficiency and Innovation Fund supports the introduction of renewable energy systems — such as solar installations — to power water utilities and reduce dependence on conventional electricity.
By integrating clean energy into the water sector, Uzbekistan moves closer to achieving its national energy efficiency targets while ensuring reliable water supply for communities.
The Energy Efficiency and Innovation Fund (EEIF) provides reliable, transparent, and accessible financing mechanisms to support Uzbekistan’s transition toward energy-efficient and sustainable water management.
Projects are implemented using proven, high-efficiency equipment that reduces energy consumption and operational costs
Real-time tracking and reporting tools ensure transparency and measurable results for every funded project.
All EEIF-supported projects are delivered in cooperation with certified experts and experienced local utilities.
Every investment contributes to Uzbekistan’s long-term environmental and economic resilience.
